The New Way Of Learning - SMS Staff Undergo Virtual Training Courses

Our staff are a vital part of our success, and now more than ever is the time to keep our staff motivated by investing in their development, for them personally, and to offer the highest quality of service to our customers.

Despite the difficulties of the current climate, SMS staff are currently undergoing several training courses – putting us in a key position to support our customers once restrictions are lifted and the Energy industry is back to full operation.

The last 10 months have been challenging to say the least when it comes to delivering on our training plan with many courses being cancelled due to lockdown or not being able to deliver them socially distanced.

However, many training providers have been able to move their courses to a virtual platform, of which our staff have attended in the recent weeks:

  • Higher National Certificates in Engineering (HNC’s) both Mechanical and Electrical,
  • Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) courses,
  • BFPA hose integrity inspection and management course – Normally conducted on site to our technicians, instead this course was written and delivered especially for our offshore techs, who joined from all over the UK via zoom.

Several SMS staff have also recently completed mental health first aid courses, ensuring a positive workplace culture and that our employees receive the support they need, particularly during lockdown.
